Welcome to the Gazeley Parish Council

Council challenge

(Gazeley Parish Council)

The Parish Council exists to represent the interests of the people of Gazeley. It has a responsibility to protect footpaths, village greens and common land, and deals with matters such as street lighting, seats and shelters and highway matters in conjunction with the county council. The Parish Council is consulted, as a right, by the district council on planning matters.

Here's a video posted in February 2024 about Gazeley. This video was not commissioned by or on behalf of, the village but may be of interest for potential visitors and residents alike. The creator has additional content relating to other local villages.

Green-lidded bin deliveries for Better Recycling

Gazeley Parish

Recycing

As you are aware, ‘Better Recycling’ is coming to West Suffolk in June 2026.

From Monday 23 February, residents across West Suffolk will now begin receiving a standard 240 litre sized green-lidded recycling bin in preparation for the launch of the new service.

Around 80,000 bins need to be delivered to households across West Suffolk, therefore the deliveries are being done in three stages over the next few months and completed by a contractor, Kee. An estimated delivery schedule can be found below, but please note that this is subject to change and is intended as a guide.

The delivery of the food caddies will commence on Monday 9 March and will follow the same three stage approach as the recycling bins, however these will be delivered by West Suffolk Council waste operatives.

Those properties deemed to need an adapted service, like flats with communal bins or terraced housing without a front garden, will be provided with alternative bins which will be delivered to a different schedule but before the new scheme starts in June.

We are asking all residents to please store their bin safely, number or name their bin, and to not use it before the new service starts.

A detailed information pack and collection calendar will be sent to households in May with more guidance and advice. There is also an ongoing communications campaign utilising social media and out of home advertisement to raise awareness of the changes.

Please feel free to share this update with your community. We also have attached a graphic that can be used on social media. The schedule can also be found here Green-lidded bin delivery schedule for West Suffolk

Gazeley is in the Second stage: estimated delivery dates Monday 16 March to Friday 17 April 2026.
